Having Breast Cancer does not mean you are on your own!
Walsall Breast Cancer Support Group is now in its 32nd year. It was started in October 1983 by a few ladies in Walsall who felt that it would be good to be able to talk about their experience of
breast cancer to others in the same situation. From then on, the group has grown to what it is today, a very successful support network for all local breast cancer patients and their families. We
are very fortunate that, as a result of our success, many patiients and their friends and families make individual donations and organise fund-raising events, We receive no formal financing and are self-funding. We are run by a committee, all volunteers an all have had breast cancer themselves.
Our group works in association with the breast team professionals at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust (Manor Hospital) and our volunteers visit patients in the hospical after their surgery to offer support and encouragement.
Our aim is to restore the patient's confidence and show that there is life after breast cancer. The success of the group only continues as a result of the amazing support that we recieve in the form of donated funds and we are extremely grateful to all who contribute in that way.
